Since every teacher has their own style in the innovative method treatment, voice, and passion, classes will vary according to who is guiding. When choosing a class to attend, please note the level. To learn more about each individual teacher, please visit the “teacher” page on this site.
Donation Class: These classes have no set rate! There will be a donation jar and you are asked to give whatever you can be it $1, $2, or $10. These classes are an important part of making sure that yoga is affordable and available to anyone.
Gentle/Yin Yoga: Great for beginners! This gentle practice targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Passive postures are held for 3-5 minutes so that the muscles can release and connective tissues and joints can open. Deep breathing and relaxation are emphasized. This type of practice complements other active styles of yoga and creates new depth in postures, deeper range of motion, and increased circulation.
Foundational: Great for beginners or anyone who wants to revisit the foundation of each pose! These classes will offer detailed instructions on principles for healthy alignment with simple exercises and movement. You will learn to work with your body with precision and insight while developing an understanding of the poses and their variations.
All Levels: All yogis welcome. You should feel comfortable in these classes whether you are a beginner or have practiced yoga for many years. Variations and modifications will be offered so you may adjust poses based on your experience, your intention for the class, or just how your body is feeling.
Intermediate: Some previous experience in yoga is suggested for these classes. Fewer modifications are offered and the pace may move a bit faster. Attend and modify poses according to your ability while listening to your body.
Advanced: This class is available for practitioners ready to explore inversions, arm balances, and/or just ready to challenge and expand their yoga practice. You should feel comfortable with headstand against the wall, flowing through numerous sun salutations, and the ability and willingness to listen to and honor your body.
